Adventure Companions
Bringing Joy & Independence to Everyday Life
What is the Adventure Companion Service?
At Eden Country Care, we believe care is about much more than staying safe at home. Many people want the freedom to get out, enjoy their hobbies, and stay connected with their community, but sometimes need a little extra support to do so.
That’s where our Adventure Companions come in.
This service is designed to help people maintain their independence, confidence, and sense of adventure. An Adventure Companion provides safe, friendly support to enjoy everyday activities, special outings, or even holidays.
How We Support Clients
Adventure Companions are there to make sure people can do the things that matter most to them, such as:
-
Going for walks, visiting parks, or exploring the Lake District.
-
Attending social events, groups, or community activities.
-
Enjoying day trips, shopping, cinema, theatre, or local attractions.
-
Visiting family and friends.
-
Helping with holidays and short breaks, providing reassurance and support throughout the trip.
-
Encouraging independence with gentle, practical support where needed.
-
Reducing loneliness by offering companionship and conversation.
Our focus is always on independence, dignity, and enjoyment of life, supporting people to do things with them, not for them.
Who Can Benefit?
This service is ideal for people who:
-
Want to continue enjoying hobbies and outings, but need a little extra support.
-
Live alone and would like company on trips and activities.
-
Feel more confident going out with someone by their side.
-
May have mobility issues or other health conditions that make outings challenging.
-
Want to stay active, connected, and socially engaged.
What Makes Adventure Companions Different?
-
It’s not traditional “care” - it’s companionship and confidence-building.
-
Activities are tailored to each individual’s interests and wishes.
-
Clients are fully involved in planning their own trips and outings.
-
Our companions are carefully chosen for their warmth, reliability, and professional support skills.
