Home Health Care in Cumbria
We started our family home care agency in Appleby-in-Westmorland in 2002 ago with the aim to provide professional care services in rural areas across Cumbria. Our private care services help people to live independently at home surrounded by family, neighbours, and friends with support from carers visiting their homes.
We’re still the only home care service available in many rural areas of Eden. Over time the demand for our service in other areas of Cumbria grew and we now provide private home care services in Eden, Keswick, and Carlisle.
What Training and Qualifications do Home Carers Have?
Our service is registered with CQC (Care Quality Commission) and we are rated as overall Good. All of our employees receive background checks before employment begins including an Enhanced DBS check and references are sought from all previous jobs where they may have worked in care.
Our ethos has always remained, provide care to people that promotes their dignity and helps them to enjoy living comfortably in their own home. Training and support for carers is fundamental to providing high-quality care.
Our care team all receive comprehensive training as soon as they begin working with us. Carers receive the nationally recognised Care Certificate Training and are all provided with free training opportunities throughout their career with us including Health & Social Care Diplomas. Managers must have the right qualifications to join us and receive mentorship from our directors before being able to support others in their roles.
In-Home Care Services
Our professional In-home carers can visit you or your family member at home and provide anything from 30 minutes to a full day of support. They can visit several times during the day or evening when specific support might be required. The number and duration of home care visits will depend on a person’s wishes but visits normally range from 30 minutes to one hour and take place in the morning, lunchtime, teatime, and bedtime, however, visits at other times can also be arranged.
Before starting to receive home care from us we will meet you or a loved one at home and discuss your care requirements. We will devise a care plan with you that details what kind of tasks you need help with, what time you would prefer care visits, and all your choices and preferences.
You can speak directly to our Care Manager, Colette who can tell you what options are available and what is most appropriate for your care needs.
